The Club is thrilled to share that our Executive Team will be joined by new Directors Alexandra Beal (incoming Secretary) and Mimi Sia (incoming Treasurer), with Beth Shimmin voted in for a second term as Chairperson. In addition, seven new General Board Members were elected: Brittany Duregon, Emma Dignon, Gabriela Vasconcelos, Katarina Watkins, Katie Jansen, Mandy Azzam, and Rosemary Simper.
They join existing senior members Charlene McGrath (Member Engagement Chair), Jade Wright (recently appointed as Deputy Chair), and Paula Jacques (Communications Committee Chair) who are serving their second years in 2026. The Club sincerely thanked outgoing Directors Alisa Burns (Treasurer since 2022) and Sara Siami (Board Member since 2023).
The Club also reported year-on-year growth in several key areas for the Financial Year 2024-2025 (FY24-25) in its Annual Report including:
· 205% increase in net earnings
· 270% increase in donation amount to our Charity Partner, and
· 35% increase in the number of event registrations.
Beth Shimmin said: “In FY24-25, Spence Club’s strategic focus was on three key areas: reputation, retention and growth. I’m proud to say we made meaningful progress in each and as such, needed to grow the board and expand our operational capability. I’m not surprised we had substantial interest from volunteers to join our team.
As we make plans for 2026 with our highly-skilled new Board Members, we are determined to build on this excellent year and continue delivering consistent value to our members, advocating for women in South Australia, and growing a Club that is inclusive, ambitious and impactful.”
